“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”
Hebrews 13:3 (KJV)
Our hearts grieve with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria following another deadly attack on Christians in Plateau State.
According to CBN News, citing iReach Global, Fulani militants reportedly attacked a home in Plateau State, locked the door, and opened fire on those inside, killing 22 Christians, including a pastor. The ministry reports that this tragedy is part of an ongoing pattern of violence against Christian communities in the region.
As members of the body of Christ, we are called not only to mourn with those who mourn but also to remember those who suffer for the name of Jesus.
The Lord Jesus warned His followers that persecution would come.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”
John 15:18 (KJV)
While governments, organizations, and researchers continue to examine the causes and circumstances surrounding these attacks, there is no question that many Christian communities in parts of Nigeria continue to face deadly violence. We pray for justice, for protection, and for the comfort that only Christ can provide.
Today, let us pray:
- For the families who have lost loved ones.
- For pastors and churches faithfully serving in dangerous areas.
- For those recovering from injuries and trauma.
- For wisdom and courage for Nigerian leaders and security forces.
- For the persecuted Church throughout the world.
- That many would come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The Church of Jesus Christ has faced persecution throughout history, yet the Gospel continues to advance. May we never forget those who suffer for His name, and may we faithfully stand with them in prayer.
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:10 (KJV)
To God be all the glory.
