“8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.”
The verses above mention men were scorched with great heat (Revelation 16:8-9). The Northwest of the US and Canada are baking with excessive heat; this heat brings loss of crops and seafood; however, the critical question is, are these things related to the great tribulation written in Revelation? Or are the heat and loss of food signs of the last days that the Prophet Jesus foretold of in Matthew 24, and Revelation 6? Are we in the “beginning of sorrows” written in Matthew 24 and Mark 13? Or are we in the tribulation with the vials being poured out? This article includes information with a Biblical perspective on current events. It also features vital updates on “Is This the Heat From Revelation,” posted by Arsenal of the King (1).
“8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.”
Is it coincidence or prophecy that the NPR used the word scorched to describe the heat in the Northwestern US? Could this be the start of the fiery heat mentioned in Revelation?
“…Death Valley and other areas in the Western United States continue to be blanketed by scorching heat.” (2)
UK Roads Melt
It was not only hot in the Northwest of the United States and Canada, but England and Northern Ireland joined Northwestern America with scorching heat. That’s right, scorching heat words right out of Revelation,
“The scorching heatwave is so hot that England’s roads are melting under the sun as councils scramble to fix the damage. Brits have basked in temperatures as high as 32C in recent days as a scorching summer heatwave grips the nation…The temperature is so hot that the tar on some of the country’s roads has caused the highways to ‘melt like chocolate.” (A)
The important thing to us should be will the heat continue to escalate? How hot will the heat be discussed during the vial judgments, and are they happening now?
The National Weather Service warned the dangerous conditions could cause heat-related illnesses. Palm Springs in Southern California also hit a record high temperature of 120 F on Saturday, while Las Vegas tied the all-time record high of 117 F.” (3)
Will this heat enlarge to other parts of the US, Canada, and even the world? This heat is a killer of people, plants, and sea life. Grim tidings from NPR state,
“Nearly 700 people believed to have died in Northwest heat wave…” (4)
The heat has not lowered and is expanding, bringing deadly triple-digit numbers. It has already brought death as it moves eastward. Millions are affected by high temperatures as the heatwave expanded eastward,
“The upcoming heat wave is forecast to bring triple-digit temperatures to at least 16 million people… In eastern Montana, an excessive heat watch is in effect this weekend where temperatures can reach 106 degrees…” (5)
At this point, we do not know if we are in the vial judgments where the sun scorches men, but we do know that we are experiencing the hottest weather ever recorded,
“Devastatingly high temperatures are also expected to bake the west through the weekend, from the central Rockies into southern Canada… Forecasts estimate that highs across the region will be 20 to 30F higher than average for this time of year. By Monday, Bozeman, Montana may see temperatures reaching up to 107F, the hottest temperature the city has ever recorded.” (6)
One of the things we know from Matthew and Revelation is that famine will occur in the end days. Famine is one of the signs that Christ warned His disciples would see the beginning of the end. Arsenal of the King has reported on the food shortages that are affecting our world; in fact, the weather has been so hot it has affected food yet to be harvested,
“An estimated 34 million people are struggling with emergency levels of acute hunger known as IPC, …meaning they are ‘one step away from starvation.’ Acute hunger is being driven by conflict, climate shocks, and the Covid pandemic, and, in some places, compounded by storms of desert locusts. “The magnitude of suffering is alarming,” said FAO director-general Qu Dongyu.” (7)
“7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
“8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”
Mussels Die of Heat
On a beach near Vancouver, Canada, Professor Harley describes the sheer devastation of the mussels which are literally cooking on the beach,
“On Thursday, from Porteau Cove, just north of Vancouver, he estimated 600,000 dead mussels in 164 feet of beach — a distance Harley said he can walk in a minute.” (8)
Sea Creatures Die
Why should it matter to us that sea creatures are dying? Besides the fact that scarcity brings rising food prices, we have to remember that the seafood eaten by millions of people will be in shorter supply. The limited supply will add to the shortages the government and UN-predicted (9). Not to mention that the deaths of nonedible creatures support the ecosystem and feed sea animals. This massive die-off of sea life occurred in the recent heatwave, with clams, mussels, and salmon all being affected,
“An estimated 1 billion sea creatures on the coast of Vancouver have died as a result of the heat, a researcher said. But that number is likely to be much higher, said Professor Christopher Harley from the University of British Columbia.” (10)
“9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.”
Further adding to the world’s food shortages will be the death of the Chinook Salmon. People may find Salmon hard to purchase in the near future as the Chinook are predicted by the NMFS to have a total kill rate,
“The National Marine Fisheries Service said 88% of the young Chinook salmon could perish in the Sacramento River this year. Now Fish and Wildlife said the fatality rate could approach 100%.” (11)
Fruit Cooks on Trees
The heat dome brought more damage to our food system with a 20% loss of cherries. While twenty percent does not seem like a large number, it is significant because it leads to more food shortages and price increases to your family, factoring in the loss of seafood.
“An extreme heat wave damaged cherries grown in Washington’s Yakima Valley and the Northwest in late June and early July. The high temperature reached 113 degrees Fahrenheit in Yakima on June 29, a record.” (12)
Are we in the tribulation that Christ Jesus foretold? The only way to know this information is to pray, watch, and wait for more signs. Believers need the wisdom of God to discern the times for He gives to all men liberally (James 1:5). However, in light of all the information on food shortages and rising prices, we must pray for wisdom to prepare ourselves for the coming famine. If you have not prepared for the food shortages to come, now is the time to prepare while you still have time and supplies are available at the market.
May God bless you richly, my beloved ones in Christ. If you are blessed with our articles, we ask you to like and share them.
