“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”
2 Corinthians 9:15
Let us be like the angels who sang at the birth of King Jesus, glory to God in the highest, for we have been given the unspeakable “indescribable, inexpressible” (too big to put into words or thought) gift-“a free gift, supernatural gift, according to the measure of the gift of Christ,” of God which is His Son (2 Corinthians 9:15). [1] There is nothing big enough that can express the unfathomable gift God gave us. Let us use this time of year to remember Christ, who laid aside heavens glory being born of a virgin, as a man to redeem humanity to God.
Praise be to King Jesus, who came as our perfect lamb to take our sins upon His body. Christ, in His foreknowledge as God must have, known the horror that was coming, and even then, He humbled himself to His Father’s will. Never will a man shown more courage than when the King of the Universe gave Himself to be whipped, broken, and bruised for our wrongdoings (Isaiah 53). The perfect one, the King of glory, was crucified and nailed upon a cross for all to see. Because of His great love for man, our beloved Savior died for the trespasses of every person who would ever be born.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
For when we accept the gift of God and believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, we become reconciled with God and move from the Kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light, we are saved by faith.
Ephesians 2:4-8
“4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
