Jeremiah 29:11
“11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Children are our future, a blessing, and a reward, and as such, we must protect children from political agendas that seek to harm them. Father God has good thoughts for our us and our children. He seeks peace and not wickedness for them. However, there is good news for children who live in Texas; praise God, moral men and women are stepping forward to protect children from hurtful medical intervention in Texas. In late February, Governor Greg Abbot from Texas classified several procedures that involve sex change on children to be child abuse under Texas law (1).
These intensive sets of laws seek to protect children from the abuse of gender-changing medical procedures and or hormones for changing gender in minors. These laws are good news, and Arsenal of the King hopes this starts a movement to protect children from life-altering surgery because it is unacceptable to use medical interventions such as surgery or hormones on minors. Christ Jesus clearly loves children and told His disciples that children are as the kingdom of God in this account in Mark.
Mark 10:13-14
“13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”
In Mark, we were given a beautiful example of how Christ cherished and blessed the children by bringing them near to Him. In Matthew, Christ warns people that there will be punishment if little ones are harmed. To illustrate the level of penance, Christ stated it would be better for those that harmed children to drown in the depths of the sea than hurt children.
Matthew 18:6
“6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”
The Governor’s order is working because shortly after, the Office of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services received a letter from Abbot concerning the DFPS beginning to investigate cases that applied to gender change; Texas Children’s Hospital, located in Houston, announced its decision to stop hormone-related prescription therapies for minors (after it reviewed Abbott’s order) (2).
According to CBN broadcasting Ken Paxton, the Republican Attorney General for Texas, released a,
“a non-binding legal opinion labeling certain gender-change treatments as “child abuse.”…In his letter, Paxton noted certain procedures performed on minors such as castration, fabrication of a “penis” using tissue from other body parts, fabrication of a “vagina” involving the removal of male sex organs, prescription of puberty-suppressors and infertility-inducers, and the like are all “abuse” under section 261.001 of the Texas Family Code.” (3).
Arsenal of the King stands by the Word of God and the precepts of the Holy Bible, and we do not condone or approve of medical procedures as described above by Ken Paxton. I know many medical providers have been taught that gender-changing treatment helps children. Still, let us realize that we do not allow children to get married or sign legal contracts, so if they do not have the capacity to make legal decisions, why should we support children who want to make medical life-changing gender decisions when they cannot vote and sign documents or drink? The Bible tells us children are a reward and a heritage of God. We must love and safeguard our children and not put them through medical trauma.
Psalm 127:2
“3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
We need to protect the innocent, to guide them through their formative years, and not add to their distress. Sadly, many transgender people commit suicide later in life after these irrevocable surgeries are done.
It is very distressing that, according to a Peer-Reviewed research article by PLOS ONE, transgender people are at higher risk for suicide and attempted suicide,
“The cause-specific mortality from suicide was much higher in sex-reassigned persons, compared to matched controls…In line with the increased mortality from suicide, sex-reassigned individuals were also at a higher risk for suicide attempts.” (4).
As the Creator of everything, God’s Word is the ultimate law. These are not rules of a God that looks down from heaven to correct our every move but, at the very least, are precepts that help our well-being when followed. People who make their own moral codes outside of God’s way are warned in Scripture of their choices.
Isaiah 5:20-21
“20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
Now let us head back to Texas, where according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the following medical treatments and or surgeries on minors may be child abuse,
- “sterilization through castration, vasectomy, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, metoidioplasty, orchiectomy, penectomy, phalloplasty, and vaginoplasty; (2) mastectomies; and (3) removing from children otherwise healthy or non-diseased body part or tissue. Id. at 1 (footnotes omitted). Additionally, you ask whether “providing, administering, prescribing, or dispensing drugs to children that induce transient or permanent infertility” constitutes child abuse. See id. at 1–2. You include the following categories of drugs: (1) puberty-suppression or puberty-blocking drugs; (2) supraphysiologic doses of testosterone to females; and (3) supraphysiologic doses of estrogen to males…
- Each of the “sex change” procedures and treatments enumerated above, when performed on children, can legally constitute child abuse under several provisions of chapter 261 of the Texas Family Code.” (5).
I want to remind Christians to be kind and show love to those who are transgender because they are at risk of suicide. We need to be praying and using care in dealing with transgender people. Today Christ would not say to condone their lifestyle but care for them by showing God’s love. Transgenders need the love of Christ. We can make social change without targeting individuals. Showing love does not mean stopping preaching or teaching the Holy Scriptures but using Christ’s approach, who knew how to relate to all people. Christ modeled love for us when He talked to the women at the well and the women caught in adultery. Both women were social outcasts and were in bad situations, and Christ offered them, love. Jesus modeled behavior for us by speaking to the pseudo-religious by calling out their behavior, such as those who pretended to be call out the rebellious and volatile anti-Biblical activists, for He is the Word of God. In both cases, He showed love for individuals who cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven without hearing one needs to repent and accept the Lord Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. Were we not commanded to go into the marketplace and win the lost with the gospel of the kingdom?
We all can make a difference in the lives of children. Let’s get the word out about what is happening to our friends, families, and churches. We can vote for lawmakers who fight for Biblical and moral values. We can pray for more legislation to protect children in the US. We can call our senators or email and text them your opinions on bills, laws, or legislation. Together we can make a difference. Now go out and do what is right, and be the Christian God created you to be. May God richly bless you until next time.
Update: We will be reviewing the Florida legislation and Disney’s response in the near future. We need to stop educators, Disney, legislators, and others from grooming our children to accept things that are indecent. Our children need to be protected and learn what is morally acceptable and what is not.
