Thanksgiving Reflection: Gratitude for His Abundant Love

“O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 136:2-3)

Preparing Our Hearts

Sometimes we move through life so quickly that we miss the quiet ways God is caring for us. Yet His goodness threads through every hour — in answered prayers we didn’t expect, in comfort we didn’t ask for, in strength we didn’t know we had. As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, let’s pause long enough to see His hand, to feel His nearness, and to let gratitude rise inside us again. This devotion is an invitation to remember how deeply we are loved.

We Are a Blessed People

This Thanksgiving — and every day of our lives — we are the most blessed of all peoples because Christ listens to our prayers (Psalm 66:9). What a gift it is to be heard by the Lord of all creation.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

God, we thank You that without Your kindness, we have nothing except what comes from Your merciful hand. Continue to provide for all our needs. Apart from Your grace, we are empty in heart and in belonging.

We praise You for who You are. We lift our arms to glorify our King and sing praises to the Lord, for He is good. We love You, Lord. Praise the name of King Jesus, who never leaves or forsakes us.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalm 100:4)

Give Thanks for His Abundant Gifts

Give thanks to God, Maker of the universe, who gave us His Son.

We give thanks that our Father God loves us and wants to hear from us. He is ever waiting. He is “the God of gods, and the Lord of lords” (Psalm 136:2–3, KJV).

Reflection

Before you rush into the rest of your day, pause for a moment, and give thanks.

“O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Ephesians 5:20)

Ask yourself:

– What blessing did God give me this week?

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever” (Psalm 118:29).

A Closing Blessing

Let gratitude rise gently in your heart.

Lord God, bless all who read these words.

Fill them with the Spirit of Jesus.

Let them shine with the Light of the World

and become a beacon of hope in a hurting world.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

In His Abundant Love,

Chaplain Cassia
