“11 For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11
God’s love does not obligate. God’s love elevates, and His understanding brings true love and forgiveness.
To bring the love of God into relationship you must move beyond mammon and your selfish needs and expectations. Begin searching for the eternal value and image of God in yourself and in the people around you. Learn to involve God in every aspect of relationship.
Firstly, secure your own relationship with God thru faith in Jesus Christ.
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jude 1:20-21
“20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
In the same manner, focus your intentions towards your loved ones to do likewise: building them up thru faith in Christ, praying in the Holy Ghost for wisdom and guidance, understanding, and love.”
Then follow the principle of Philippians 4:6-7, “6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Then continue in the love of God as found in Phil. 4:8 and 1 Cor. 13:4-8.
Finally, if the relationship you are seeking is marriage, make certain your future spouse understands these principles. Pray together. Study the Word of God together. Agree to discuss your differences in humility and always seek to lift each other up in Christ.
Psalms 127:1
“Unless the Lord builds a house,
They who build it labor in vain;
Unless the Lord guards a city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.”
Matthew 7:24-27
“24 “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and its collapse was great.”
John 15:11-13
“11 These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. 12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.”
