Urgent Prayer: Synagogue Taken Hostage near Fort Worth, Texas

Thank God our prayers have been answered they were all released safely.

Dear ones in Christ,

Please pray for the safety of the hostages and law enforcement at the Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas, near Fort Worth (1).

“A law enforcement official familiar with the investigation told CNN there were believed to be four hostages, including a rabbi…There are no injuries at this time, Nelson said…Colleyville Police Sgt. Dara Nelson said one hostage had been released.” (1).

The synagogue was live streaming their Sabbath morning service on Facebook when the hostage situation began. Beth Israel was streaming their service this morning on Facebook when the suspect who claims to have a bomb took over the synagogue. According to police, the suspect wants the release of Pakistani terrorist scientist Siddiqui, who is held in a federal prison medical facility near Fort Worth. (1).

The terrorist holding the people in the synagogue hostage may have ties with Muslim terrorist groups as Aafia Siddiqui had ties with al-Qaeda (2).

“Siddiqui volunteered with the Muslim Students Association (MSA) to fundraise for the Al-Kifah Refugee Center, which was later revealed to be a charitable front for al-Qaeda with links to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.” (2).

Also, Siddiqui tried to kill army officers and FBI agents during an interrogation. The interrogation occurred after Afghan authorities arrested Siddiqui for trying to reach out to the Taliban (2).

We need to pray for the safety of houses of worship, Churches and synagogues should be on alert because tragic events like this often spawn more violence.
