“6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
NATO and Russia Move Towards War?
“As tensions in the Black Sea rise between Russia and Ukraine, the Pentagon isn’t taking any chances and has publicized that they are preparing for the worst-case scenario.”
“US STRATCOM Posture Statement Preview: The spectrum of conflict today is neither linear nor predictable. We must account for the possibility of conflict leading to conditions which could very rapidly drive an adversary to consider nuclear use as their least bad option.”
While the US is preparing for conflict, Russian Defense Mister Shoigu announced the withdrawal and transfer of troops that had been deployed near Ukraine.
Russian Military Reserves Called Out
We find more movement in Russia where the reserves have been called out in Russia,
“Russian President Putin has signed a Presidential Decree stating that Russian citizens who are currently in military reserve are to be called for additional training this year.
The decree covers all aspects from Administrative, Governmental, the FSB, National Guard and the Armed Forces.”
Christ Will Open the First and Second Seal
Has Christ opened the first and second seals in Revelation? The only way we will know is to watch the events around us, read the Holy Bible, and pray for wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“6 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”
Whenever Russia is involved in military hostilities, many Christian’s thoughts move towards Ezekiel 38 and 39, where the Gog Magog war is detailed. With modern-day Russia being in the Biblical area of Magog, it is interesting to note that in Ezekiel, we find a verse that many Bible scholars consider to be the USA. What makes it even more alarming is that the USA is preparing for a conflict with Russia.
“6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
So just who are Gog and Magog? According to K-House, “Gog” is not a proper name but a title for the ruler of Magog.” The ancient tribes of Magog, Meshech, Rosh, and Tubal are identified as modern Russia (5).
We know from the following verses that the Lord God is against Gog or Russia, that Russia and her allies will descend from the north with a mighty army of nations to take her goods and land; fortunately for Israel, the judgement of God stops the plans of the enemy.
God is against Magog/Russia
“3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.”
The Enemy will come like a storm
Many will cover the land
“9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.”
To Take Goods and Land
Hurt or kill the Jews
“12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.”
A Mighty Army from the North
God prophesies against them
“15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.”
Armies Shall Fall
Fire on Magog and the Isles
“4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Christ told His followers in Matthew 24, that we are to expect “wars and rumors of wars” near the end of days, and it is concerning that the situation between Russia and the NATO countries may escalate to war; however, at this point the Gog-Magog war written about in Ezekiel 38 and 39 has not begun because as far as we know neither side are planning or attempting an all-out assault on Israel (6). Of course, only God knows what will happen in the future, so it is imperative to keep watching current events to see what transpires and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to perceive events through the lens of the Holy Bible. Israel is God’s timepiece, and we have to weigh and measure the prophetic through the prophecies in God’s Word. Brothers and sisters, be wise and pray to Almighty God to be as the sons of Issachar and who knew and perceived the times (7).
May Our Beloved Savior Jesus Christ bless and keep you.
