This is a message of hope for the people ravaged by the brutal winter storm in Texas. God loves the people of Texas, He loves the people in the south, the people in the USA, and all the people in the world (John 3:16). It is because of the great love Jesus Christ has for everyone that we as believers should join in prayer and beseech God for those in harm’s way during this unprecedented winter storm. Lord God Almighty, we ask you to supply water, heat, housing, food, and medical needs for those caught in the hazards brought by the storm. Let your generous spirit rise in your believers as they help those in need with money, food, water, or service. Protect the first responders as they help out in emergencies. Let help flow in from other regions and other states, and may it reach the needy. Lord God, take away the hopelessness and replace it with determination and energy to clean up the damage and begin to rebuild. We thank you, God, for Your merciful hand and Your sweet blessing in Texas and the South. Let revival and hope reign in this disaster, and fill them with singing and joy instead of despair in these difficult circumstances. Texas we are praying for you. May God bless Texas and all her neighbors who are affected by this fierce weather.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.”
“Texas faces food shortage after extreme winter weather wreaks havoc. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller reports on the current conditions in Texas on ‘The Faulkner Focus.’ Warmer temperatures in Texas and other states in the South and Southwest brought relief after a brutal winter storm ravaged the region last week, leaving millions without power and dozens dead.” (1)
“A blast of arctic air swept through Texas, bringing with it ice, snow and record-low temperatures that haven’t been felt in decades. The winter storm is unprecedented in scope — all 254 counties in the state have been affected by the bitter cold and millions have been without electricity. Icy roads have also contributed to widespread closures, and cities have opened emergency shelters to help people cope with the dangerous temperatures.” (2)
