We have just finished the tumultuous year 2020. Now we are facing uncertainties on a national and even on a worldwide level that will affect finances with food shortages bringing more unrest and upheaval to our way of life that extends beyond man’s control. We need to pray for our nation because Congress’s joint session meets on January 06th, 2021, for the electoral college tabulation [1]. We praise the Lord that over 500,000 Americans are going to the Save America Rally at DC; let us pray for the safety of our citizens, protestors, families and first responders [2]. President Trump invited Americans to DC on January 6th by tweeting them [3]. The electoral vote count is on an election that millions of Americans believe is fraudulent; the vote combined with the rally could add up to trouble, so now more than ever more, we need to pray and intercede for all men, including our government officials [2,4]. We need to pray, and continue to pray for our families, our communities, and nation as directed in 2 Timothy 2.
2 Timothy 2:1-3
“1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.”
In Job 12 the Bible states that God spoils counselors, makes fools of judges, ruins princes, takes down the powerful, uncovered hidden things, lights up shadows, and it is He that makes nations grow and demolishes them; God takes the heart of those in charge from their people or the leaders do not care for their people (Job 12:17-24). I do not know what God is doing in our nation, but I think the following verses in Job sound like the USA. I want to break this down according to the similarities within the USA. Many advisors are rotten, or should I say boughten. The judges vote their wallets or to cover their sins, politician after politician is exposed for their perversion and greed, the majority of our leaders’ hearts belong to those who pay the most, our nation once great oh how she has fallen. Only God rises and brings down nations. Only God can restore our country, but the question is, does He want to (Job 12:23)?
Job 12:17-24
“17 He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
19 He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
21 He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
22 He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.
24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.”
We do not know what will happen next, but as Christians, we draw courage from the promises of God, Who is immutable and cannot lie (Numbers 23:19). These promises are written in His perfect Word, the Holy Bible. I am here to declare to you who are Christians that you are the children of the most-high God. God loves you through the good, the illnesses, the shadows, viruses, and no matter what will happen in your life, Abba Father loves you so much that nothing can separate you from His love.
Romans 8:35-39
“35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
When you get that unexpected phone call or dreaded test results, you can be grateful that God is faithful, and is with you. When there is no money in the bank, you can trust God, Who is your Father, to fill your needs. For it is in these times of instability where nothing around is the same that the Holy Spirit Who lives inside of you will make you stable and full of the love of Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:3-5
“3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.”
The outcome of the election may not be as we hoped, still in this God has promised that He will strengthen us. If we see our nation and rights crumble around us, know, child of God, that Almighty God is your protector. He will strengthen you for what lies ahead. If persecution comes and it will, know that Christ is with you. His presence dispels anxiety, depression, and fear.
Isaiah 41:10
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Will America stand, or will she fall? We can make a difference with our intercession, fasting, and repentance but remember, sisters and brothers, that we serve Jesus Christ, and we need to strive to push forth His Kingdom, The Kingdom of Heaven, not the kingdoms of men (Matthew 6:33). Let us cry out to God once more time with all our hearts to save our nation that we will once again be a bastion of hope, a ray of light to the world and that America we once again be “One Nation Under God” [5].
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
“14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.”
