My brothers and sisters in Christ, the days are dark and will proceed to darken with evil as we near the end of days. We were warned that men would become lovers of self, that iniquity would increase, and false doctrine spread (2 Timothy 3:1-14). Some of us look around bewildered at the speed at which right has become wrong, and wrong has become right in the world around us (Isaiah 5:20)
Believers of Christ, your eternal salvation will depend on the choices made in the near future. To stand when soldiers ask you to deny Christ or accept a mark, you must renew your first love. We are in a spiritual battle being brought into the earthly realm, and while we do not battle in the flesh, our warfare affects the spiritual, which will affect the natural (2 Corinthians 10:1-5). To combat the enemy, one must first battle their old man and surrender oneself to Christ, who alone gives strength to defeat the flesh. Only through the humility of consecration with a sacrifice of self can a Christian defeat evil through the blood of the Lamb and their testimony (Revelation 12:11). (For what testimony can one have when lying with the pigs of selfishness and worldliness, smeared in the foul-smelling mire of sin).
Jesus Christ prophesied in Matthew 24 of the things to come in the last days. The world experienced pestilence (COVID) wars, and now prophecies akin to the Black Horsemen of Revelation are baring their ugly head. The End is near. Choose life or death. Christ prophesied in Matthew 24 of tribulations. Like the Christians of old, we will live through persecution, trials, and betrayal. Choose your path when they kick in your door, arrest you, and demand the beast’s mark on you.
Matthew 24:6-7
“6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”(Authorized (King James) Version)
Food Insecurity:
Food insecurity is on the rise; over 345 million people face food shortages,
“The scale of the current global hunger and malnutrition crisis is enormous. WFP estimates – from 79 of the countries where it works (and where data is available) – that more than 345 million people face high levels of food insecurity in 2023. That is more than double the number in 2020. This constitutes a staggering rise of 200 million people compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels.” 1
Panama Canal:
Food and goods coming into the US by ships will experience long wait times. Freighting ships (that move essential goods to the US) are ordered to restrict and limit their loads by 40% to deal with water shortages in the Panama Cannel; this could extend for ten months. 2
Why does this affect me?
Rising Prices and Food Shortages
The problem with restricted shipping is that ships carrying goods use the canal to shorten the voyage. Last year, the cargo shipped was over 500 million tons; the forty percent cut will deliver to America 200 million tons less food, barley, corn, wheat, sourgum, petroleum, and wood products.3 This leads to food shortages and rising costs for families already burdened with keeping food on their tables and paying for heating oil. The Panama Canal situation will increase the price of food and petroleum; unfortunately, there will be an overall price increase for Americans.
Tribulation:
Revelation 6:5-6
“5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”
What Can Christians Do?:
Choose life or death. The End is near. Christ prophesied in Matthew 24 of tribulations. Like the Christians of old, we will live through persecution, trials, and betrayal. Choose your path when they kick in your door, arrest you, and demand the beast’s mark on you. Let your battle begin, fight with God’s weapons that have power to demolish evil (2 Corinthians 10). Fight for your life and the life of your loved ones. Battle with prayer, and fasting. Be like Christ our victor and use Scripture to defeat the devil (Luke 4:1-13). Remember, as the comforts are being taken away one at a time, and as our freedom lessens, Christ, must be our comfort. We will have no peace if we do not find peace in Christ. Only with Christ can we navigate the coming season, for He is our strength and our deliverer. Christ is our high tower; call out to Him. He awaits, sitting forward on His throne, delighted to hear from His precious child. My beloved, you are loved by the Creator of the universe. Call out to Jesus. He hears you.
Call Upon the Lord:
Psalm 18:1-6
“18 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.”
May God bless you abundantly my beloved,
Chaplain
