Pray For Those Who Are In The Path of Hurricane Idalia

My dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to join the Arsenal of the King staff in praying for Florida and other states that may be affected by the hurricane.

Christians should not fear even when the headlines warn of the storm of the century to hit because Jesus Christ will give us wisdom in preparation for the storm. The Daily Mail states,

Hurricane Idalia could be the strongest storm to hit the Florida Big Bend  for a CENTURY as 14 MILLION are placed under severe weather warnings ahead of 150 mph winds and 12 feet storm surge.”

According to the Weather Channel,

“Forty-six Florida counties were under a state of emergency.

Evacuation orders have been issued for some areas.

Tampa International Airport announced plans to close.”

Severe damage is anticipated, and the storm is expected to strengthen, so let us petition God to calm or lessen the storm or move it out to sea where people will not be affected.

Jesus, if this storm be schemes of evil men or the dark ones by weather modification, we know you are higher, and we know that you supernaturally calmed the waves on the sea, and if it is your will, you can direct the weather to calm.

Mark 4:35-41

“35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

Lord God, give your children discernment with words of knowledge and wisdom to know the steps to take so they may help others around them by preparing what is needed. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we ask for a miracle to protect those who are in harm’s way by urging them to evacuate, by lessening the storm surge, or by calming the storm.

Psalm 65:7

“7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.”

Psalm 46:1

“46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

1 John 5:14-15

“14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

This is a good time to show the love of God to others and reach out to your neighbors, especially those who are elderly, sick, or disabled, to see if they need anything. Urge those dependent on electricity for critical medical devices to have a backup plan or move inland. Stock up on water, pick up needed medicines, and get easy-to-cook food and snacks (don’t forget pets). Most of all, believe that Christ will give you wisdom during the storm to prepare what to do.

May God bless you abundantly and richly,

Chaplain
