Parents Beware-FDA Approves Over The Counter-Birth Control

FDA-APPROVES-FIRST-OVER-COUNTER-PILL-FOR-BIRTH-CONTROL

“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved the first over-the-counter contraceptive pill, paving the way for millions of women in the country to purchase birth control without a prescription.” (1)

According to Health Network, Perrigo will have the “Opill” on the shelves in the first quarter of 2024 (1).

The National Catholic Bioethics Center states,

““Claims that “Opill” would likely cause disproportionate risk to teenagers in the United States. The argument to this effect is twofold. First, one major side effect of “Opill” is depression, which teenagers have increasingly suffered from since the 2020 pandemic. Second, teenagers are more likely to “take risks disproportionate to their own safety needs” than other demographics.”  (2)

“Opill” causes depression which is rampant in our society. Parents, please take note of the new OTC birth control, which will be available in the new year, and have the necessary talk with your teens. I am concerned that the drug needs monitoring by an adult as there is a medical protocol to be followed, such as the use of additional contraceptives to the “Opill” if they exhibit stomach issues or they may become pregnant. Young people and their parents or caregivers should access reliable medical sources for monitoring and information on sex, contraceptives, and pregnancy. Making “Opill” over the counter makes teens think it is like “Midol” or “Tylenol.” Birth control is not a snack to purchase at your local store; even persons buying cigarettes or liquor must be over 21 and show proof of age.

As a strong supporter of Biblical values and parents’ rights, I believe “Opill” offers teens another opportunity to gain health care without their parent’s knowledge which could lead to health risks in teens. I do not condone premarital sex for any age group, and this article is to inform people of the dangers of “Opill.” Pregnancy is a natural side effect of sex, just like a consequence is a natural effect of sin. If you keep having sex, you may likely become pregnant, and then you will be asked to choose to kill an unplanned child.

God ordained sex inside of marriage to protect the mother, the child, and the father. Sin may be delightful at the moment, but it has consequences, and the stress and health problems that come with an unplanned pregnancy or abortion take an emotional and physical toll on teens.

John 10:10

“10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Is there a demonic reason behind the release of over the counter birth control? Yes, because even if Perrigo does not know evil has an agenda for the easy-access pill, we have to remember the enemy comes to destroy at every opportunity. It promotes sex by making it easier for young adults to obtain birth control pills. If the chocolate is on your shelf, it is much easier to eat. The enemy wants to ruin lives, and the “Opill” escalates depression in teens, which can lead to suicidal ideations and major depression. There are risks of health problems and unplanned pregnancy which often lead to abortion (over 1 in 5 babies are aborted); death pleases Satan, who is a murderer (John 8:44) in direct opposition to Jesus, who brings life (3). Satan seeks to destroy and devour people (1 Peter 5:8-9) and will use deceit and manipulation to accomplish his goal (2 Corinthians 11:14). Lives are torn apart by abortion, with future mental distress, infertility, and depression being byproducts of our choices. Another reason for easy purchasing could be it adds another layer of children being secretive from their parents and adds to rebellion and defiance, causing a rift in the home.

Caregivers and parents, shield your children, and petition God for supernatural wisdom, for only Jesus can combat demonic evil. Seek divine discernment for specific ways to guard each child. God will reveal the evil that seeks to harm them. Keep praying for them daily, for parents and caretakers are the guards at the gate protecting their family.

“3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
